Foundation Announces Progress Commitment Weekends

Commitment Weekends for the Silver Anniversary of the Progress Annual Appeal are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, February 3 and 4, and Saturday and Sunday, February, 16 and 17, at 55 parishes and 22 missions located in 10 El Paso and West Texas counties. Commitment Weekends are the two weekends a year that Catholics are invited to support the 17 ministries of the diocese and the broader diocesan family.

According to Bishop Armando X. Ochoa, “the Progress Annual Appeal is the one campaign that serves the needs of our people beyond the boundaries of any one parish. It is the work that Christ has entrusted to his Church. Your gift to Progress will commemorate the 25th anniversary and support the wonderful works of 17 ministries that promote, prepare and support the clergy, implement education, formation, and worship for laity, and provide outreach, advocacy, and evangelization for the community.”

With a goal of $2 million for the silver anniversary, the Foundation invites everyone to participate in the Progress Appeal both through a commitment to prayer and a Progress gift. Gifts to the Progress Annual Appeal are tax-deductible.
