PRAYERS of the FAITHFUL
2009 – 2010

Parishes are encouraged to include a stewardship theme petition in the Prayers of the Faithful each week. A few suggested petitions are offered below. Please feel free to edit or rewrite in a style that is familiar to your parish community. 

General Stewardship Petition:

The following petition should be adjusted each week to reflect a different ministry or activity.

For the members of our parish who serve as __________, may our Lord bless and sustain them in this parish ministry…We pray to the Lord.

Advent Season 2009

Recognizing that faithful stewards are always prepared for the return of the Master, may we be faithful in our stewardship as we await the return of Jesus…  We pray to the Lord.

Christmas Season 2009
As God has shared His Son with us, may we generously share our blessings with others…We pray to the Lord.

January - 2010
May we resolve during the coming year to live as better stewards by sharing more generously of our time, talents, and treasure with others… We pray to the Lord.

February – 2010

That through our actions as good stewards others will be drawn to Christ… We pray to the Lord.

Lenten
During this season of Lent, may we open our hearts to the needs of the poor and the oppressed and use our gifts to ease their burdens … We pray to the Lord.

Palm Sunday - Holy Week

That our every action demonstrate our gratitude to God for the gift of salvation made possible by the sacrifice of His Son… We pray to the Lord.

Easter
May our actions always demonstrate our appreciation to God for the promise of the Resurrection and eternal life… We pray to the Lord.

April – 2010 – Easter Season
As we celebrate the Easter Season, may we always remember that we are called to spread the Good News of salvation through the just and loving use of our gifts from God …We pray to the Lord.

May – 2010

May we imitate the example of the Blessed Mother and always be open to following God’s plan for us no matter the personal cost… We pray to the Lord.

June – 2010

That we commit ourselves to the common welfare of all… We pray to the Lord.

July – 2010

May God grant our leaders the wisdom to be good stewards of all that has been entrusted to them… We pray to the Lord.

August – 2010
That we seek to see God in all whom we encounter… We pray to the Lord.

September – 2010
May we always remember - “all that we are” and “all that we have” is gift from a loving God… We pray to the Lord.

October – 2010
That our gifts of time, talent, and treasure will make a difference in the lives of others … We pray to the Lord.

November - 2010
During this season of harvest, may we always remember that God is the source of all our blessings… We pray to the Lord.
