Shepherding Our Faith: 2010 Progress Appeal Invites
us to Be Shepherds of the Church

Progress Annual Appeal

The Progress Appeal is the Bishop’s Annual Appeal to support the ministries of the Diocese of El Paso.  Funds raised through the Progress Appeal represent nearly 40% of all operating funds available to diocesan ministries.  Progress funds are used to support the pastoral, spiritual, educational and human service programs that benefit thousands of individuals throughout the 10 counties of our diocese.  The diocese also advances the work of every parish with direct financial assistance such as grants and support services.  Without the Progress Appeal, this vital work of the Church would not be possible.

The Progress Annual Appeal, above all else, is a natural extension of the concept of Christian Stewardship.

Stewardship is…
Receiving God’s Gifts Gratefully
Nurturing God’s Gifts Responsibly
Sharing God’s Gifts Justly
Returning God’s Gifts Abundantly

As stewards, we are all shepherds of our Catholic faith and its embodiment in the Church.  Stewardship is the means through which we can live our faith today while recognizing the shared responsibility we have to future generations to nurture the faith and tend to the needs of the Church.

The Progress Annual Appeal is the one diocesan-wide campaign that serves the needs of our people beyond the boundaries of any one parish. We invite you to participate in the Progress Appeal both through a commitment to prayer and a Progress gift.
