Your gift supporting the Bishop's Scholarship Fund provides an opportunity for deserving students to attend El Paso's Catholic middle and high schools.
Bishop's Scholarships are available for a select number of students who:
Scholarships are available for students enrolling in the sixth grade or above and are renewable for as long as the student attends an El Paso Catholic school and remains in good standing. The amount of an individual Bishop’s Scholarship award ranges from $500 to $6,000 annually, determined by the Foundation based on the ability of the student’s family to contribute toward the educational expenses.
Currently, there are more requests for scholarship assistance than the Foundation for the Diocese of El Paso, Diocesan Education Assistance Fund, and our local schools can provide. Yet many students attending El Paso’s Catholic schools are especially in need of financial aid. Nearly one out of four of the over 3,500 students enrolled in El Paso’s Catholic schools qualify for the federal lunch program. Many more families would like to attend but find the tuition out of reach. While our schools work hard to keep tuition affordable--with tuition ranging from $3,700 to $7,000/year - the need for financial aid outpaces the availability.
The Bishop’s Scholarship Fund is designed to help meet this need.

Endowment funds provide a vehicle through which individuals make outright or planned gifts that will have an everlasting impact on the parish/school. In time the income generated by the gift will far exceed the original donation.
As a result, endowed funds provide a perpetual, supplemental source of income for such things as the enhancement of programs and ministries, facilities maintenance, scholarships and seminary assistance, priest retirement, etc. Learn more about endowment funds.

Monthly giving can be a powerful way to provide sustainable, long-term support for our Catholic community. As little as $20 (66 cents a day) can make a difference for the people and parishes that are helped by the ministries and charities of the Diocese of El Paso.
Make a planned gift through a charitable gift annuity, charitable remainder trust, life insurance policy, retirement plan, or other planned giving instrument.
Donors may create a Named Fund with a gift or pledge of $10,000 or more over a five-year period benefiting the endowment fund of their choice. If you are interesting in establishing a Named Fund in honor of an endowment fund, please contact us online or call (915) 872-8412.
