Free Talk by Renowned Professor and Priest at St. Raphael Parish

June 06, 2019

Only the Strong Can Be Gentle: Toward Spirituality for Leadership, a Hesburgh Lecture presented by Rev. Ronald J. Nuzzi, Ph.D. and hosted by the Notre Dame Club of El Paso and St. Raphael Parish, is free and open to the public. Food and Fruitikis for sale on the Whitetop outside the church beginning at 5pm. The talk begins at 6pm. For more information, please contact elpaso.president@alumni.nd.edu

About the Lecture: The world of politics and business has certain expectations for leadership. The Catholic tradition, including the Scriptures, the life of Jesus, and the example of the saints, is instructive about a Catholic approach to leadership. Those with authority over others at work or at home can bless their life situations by developing a spirituality that is oriented to leadership.

Inspired by the late Father Hesburgh’s legacy of lifelong learning, the Hesburgh Lecture Series has brought University faculty to Notre Dame clubs and their local communities since 1986. The lectures, presented by mostly tenured faculty, showcase the depth and breadth of Notre Dame’s academic expertise in research and teaching. The series furthers the mission of the Alumni Association to provide meaningful continuing education opportunities to Notre Dame alumni and friends.

The Notre Dame Club of El Paso is driven by 6 central guidelines: Camaraderie, Catholic/Christian Spirituality, Communications, Community Service, Continuing Education and Current Students. The Club supports Catholic education in El Paso through the annual Notre Dame Club of El Paso scholarship. Support Catholic schools!
